Sharpest knife I've received out of the box with a V edge. Great care has been put into making symmetric bevels too. You can see the machining lines underneath the stonewash. I don't know if that is with all models or just happens with mine in particular. I personally do not mind it. So why not 5 stars on everything? Well the scales are not perfectly flush to the tang. There is a very small gap at the guard and thankfully it is magnacut and if water gets there it will not rust. However for the price I wish it was perfect. Also the micarta (bigger in the firesteel) has tiny tearouts that do not affect the function, and I guess it is due to the material. It too has a strong olive wood-like smell. I don't mind it but to consider it. All this does not warrant for me a return because with use it can potentially get worse due to wear. Also I could just get custom scales fitted to it either way, and the blade amazed me. However I wish for its price that those details were better to be an absolutely 5/5 star knife.
